The Year of Physiology connects physiology with clinical medicine

The Slovak Physiological Society and the Czech Physiological Society and the Institute for Heart Research of the Slovak Academy of Sciences recently organized a cooperative meeting with the Slovak Cardiology society. Thanks to the cooperation of these physiological societies and the Slovak Cardiology Society, an interesting program consisting of experimental and clinical presentations was created. This is an excellent example how physiology , as an essential basic science, reaches out to clinical medicine. This year the main topic was “Calcium and the cardiovascular system – positive vs. negative effects”.
